Grow Your Business With Consistent Blogging
If you've been following me for a while, you know there's something I do every week without fail, and that's writing a blog post!
Companies that prioritize blogging are 13x more likely to see a positive ROI, compared to businesses that don’t. That increased ROI is thanks to a 434% increase in indexed pages on the internet.
Pretty incredible, right?
I know what you are thinking — yes, blogging can be a little time-consuming at first, and getting it done consistently is not always easy, but the value it brings to my business is incredible.
In this blog, I want to share why I began blogging and why I’ve made it a non-negotiable part of my business strategy. I hope as you read on, you'll consider doing the same.
My journey to blogging consistently
I began blogging consistently about a year ago. It all started soon after I launched The Marketing Concierge and I had a LOT to share — and a love for writing. I'm also a giver and a trainer at heart, making blogging the perfect way to help others.
What attracted me initially to blogging is its enduring nature. Blogs live on our website forever, unlike fleeting social media posts. They have a much longer life and can answer people's questions as they search online.
The most rewarding part of consistent blogging has been the increased engagement with my readers! I’ve found that blogs often serve as a better way to connect with our audience than social media. In fact I can't recall a single email about a recently published blog post that didn't receive at least one thoughtful email response in return. It's a beautiful aspect of blogging that reinforces my commitment to this powerful medium.
As I share the following benefits of blogging, I invite you to explore the idea of blogging with me. In this digital age, where information is at our fingertips, blogging is a great way of contributing and building a lasting connection with your audience.
1. Establishing Credibility and Authority
In today's digital age, consumers value information and expertise. A well-maintained blog provides you with a platform to showcase your knowledge and authority in your industry. By sharing insights, tips, and valuable content, you establish yourself as a trusted resource for your audience.
2. Boosting Search Engine Visibility
One of the most significant advantages of having a blog is its impact on search engine optimization (SEO). Search engines favor websites that regularly update their content with relevant, high-quality information. Each new blog post represents an opportunity to include relevant keywords and phrases, making it easier for potential customers to find you through search engines like Google.
3. Attracting and Retaining Customers
A blog is a versatile tool that not only attracts new customers but also keeps existing ones engaged. By providing valuable, informative content, you not only draw in curious visitors but also encourage them to return regularly. The longer someone stays on your website reading your blog posts, the more likely they are to explore your products or services.
”Your website is likely the first impression a potential customer will receive about your company. It’s almost like a first date. The customer simply needs to know that you have something they want and you can be trusted to deliver whatever that is.”
- Donald Miller, author of Building A Storybrand
4. Showcasing Products and Services
A blog offers a perfect platform to highlight your products or services in a subtle, informative manner. Instead of advertisements, you can craft compelling stories and in-depth articles that guide your audience toward understanding the value you provide. This soft-sell approach often resonates more effectively with readers.
5. Building a Community and Fostering Engagement
Blogs are not just about one-way communication; they encourage interaction. Readers can leave comments, ask questions, and share their thoughts. This engagement can help you understand your audience better, refine your offerings, and build a loyal community of customers and brand advocates.
6. Staying Ahead of the Competition
In a crowded marketplace, small business owners often struggle to stand out. Having a blog sets you apart by demonstrating your commitment to keeping your audience informed and engaged. It's an effective way to differentiate yourself from competitors who may not have invested in blogging.
7. Providing Valuable Educational Content
Consumers appreciate educational content. Whether you're offering how-to guides, industry insights, or informative articles, your blog can serve as a valuable resource. When your audience looks to you for information, they're more likely to choose your products or services when the time comes.
8. Long-Term Value and Evergreen Content
Unlike social media posts, which have a relatively short lifespan, blog content is evergreen. Each blog post adds to your website's library of valuable information, continuously attracting new visitors. Over time, this wealth of content can solidify your online presence and reputation.
If blogging is not for you, that’s okay! We’ll explore more content strategies in the next blog post.
